I finally made it Roberta’s Pizza in Bushwick, Brooklyn!
It seems like I have been trying to get to Roberta’s for years. I don’t visit Brooklyn all that often, we are NYC people. Well that is about to change, Brooklyn is an amazing place to be if you love pizza.
Roberta’s did not disappoint. First off it’s just cool. There is graffiti everywhere and has a fun vibe.
The surrounding area also serves as a great backdrop for pictures.
On to the pizza.
The Margherita!
I had heard and read from many people well respected in the pizza industry that Roberta’s crust was amazing. Well, they were right. The one thing that stood out about Roberta’s pizza is their crust. It is not a traditional Neapolitan pizza per say, the crust is thinner than most Neapolitan pizzas.
The toppings are what you would come to expect, simple, fresh ingredients.
The white guy or sometimes referred to as Bianca is one my favorite Neapolitan style pizzas. Roberta’s white guy ingredients; mozzarella, ricotta, garlic and olive oil. Again the crust was the star here, the toppings were good but it had a bit of a sour taste.
All in all the pie was good, however I will be trying a different pie during my next visit.
One of the great things about Roberta’s is not only do they have a normal sit down restaurant where the wait is normally very long, they also have a takeout pizzeria and bakery. When we visited on a Saturday in March, I was in and out within 15 minutes.
If you are looking for a fun, cool, and really good pizza place to go, you will not go wrong by making a trip to Bushwick.
